A sides from rivers and canals, we also some fantastic stillwaters right on our doorstep. From established match-circuit commercials to quiet, scenic farm pools, we are lucky to have such a variety within a short drive of the shop.
While many of our local clubs like Loughborough Soar AS, Long Eaton Fed, Notts Fed, and The Earl of Harrington offer day tickets for their stretches, here are some of the standout dedicated day-ticket fisheries I recommend visiting:
Rycroft Fisheries – Hemington

The Fishing: Offers a variety of lakes perfect for targeting anything from silvers and tench to hard-fighting carp.

Facilities: A very popular match venue with excellent on-site facilities including a café and plenty of parking.

Springwood Fisheries – Melbourne
Set within the National Forest, Springwood fishery roughly 15 minutes from the shop.

The Fishing: Features two well-kept lakes with a good head of mixed stock. They are open from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM daily.

Family Friendly: Ideal for a family day out, with nearby attractions like Staunton Harold and Melbourne Hall.
Coopers Arms Fishery – Weston-on-Trent
Coopers Lake is located in the stunning grounds of The Cooper Arms country pub and restaurant.

The Fishing: A well-stocked mixed fishery featuring 35 pegs with easy access and plenty of parking.

Match Info: Regular matches are held at weekends, so it is well worth checking ahead for peg availability.
Robin-wood Lakes – Ingleby
Robinwood Lakes consists of four lakes and is open daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Fishing: A mixed fishery with a great head of silverfish like roach and rudd, along with carp running into double figures.

A charming, well-looked-after fishery situated on a farm, offering a peaceful day in the countryside.

Stillwater Advice
When visiting any new day-ticket water, my number one tip is to check the notice board or the fishery website first. Rules on "Fishery Only" baits, hook sizes, and net dips can vary significantly from one venue to the next.
