The Waters
This ticket offers access to some of the finest and most iconic stretches of the River Soar, alongside local stillwaters and canals:
-
The River Soar: Running from Kegworth down to Sileby Lock. Covers the famous Sutton Bonington (Soar Lane) stretch, the non-navigable river at Stamford on Soar, Cotes, Barrow Deeps, The Cobbles, and the 1860 at Mountsorrel.
-
Stillwaters: Includes Stonebow Pond and Dishley Pool.
-
Canals: Sections of the Grand Union and local cuts, including Zouch (Zouch Cut), Loughborough Swing Bridge, Bishops Meadow, and Barrow Canal.
-
Kegworth Canal Cut: The short section of canal above Kegworth Deep Lock to where it joins the main river and nature reserve. It's rarely fished but can produce excellent sport during winter floods, with best access from Kegworth.
Close Season Rules:
-
15th March to 15th June inclusive: Closed season applies to all parts of the River Soar (including Bishops Meadow down to the Soar mouth) and Stonebow Pond.
-
Open All Year: Dishley pool, plus the canal sections at Zouch, Swing Bridge, Barrow, and above Kegworth Deep Lock remain open all year round.

Great service
Hi there .
Well thought i would try out dishley pool as love tench fishing . But when I went over Saturday ,it as disappointing to really only find 1 peg that's clear enough to use . All the pegs in the water had far to much weed to enjoy any sort off fishing . It needs some tlc and weeds in the water near the pegs clearing ideally . A beautiful place to fish , but needs some works doing to it , to make it possible to fish better.
Thanks Richard
Hi Richard,
Thanks for dropping us a review! Dishley Pool really is a beautiful spot, so it’s a real shame to hear that the summer weed put a dampener on your tench session and left you with only one clear peg to fish.
Just as a quick heads-up for yourself and anyone else purchacing a ticket: we actually just handle the online ticket sales on behalf of Loughborough Soar Angling Society. We don't manage or maintain the waters ourselves, so the day-to-day upkeep and peg clearing is all looked after by the society's team.
Your feedback about the pool needing a bit of TLC is spot on, so we'd definitely recommend dropping a quick message directly to the Loughborough Soar Angling Society committee or bailiffs. They are a great bunch and are always keen to know where the weeds need a bit of clearing so they can get it sorted.
Really hope you manage to get back out there for those tench soon when it's cleared up a bit!
Tight lines,
The Team at Soar Tackle
